Cedar Rock Family Farm

"Were not just clucking around"

Dean and Tamera

Let me start off by telling you something about Dean.  Dean grew up on a 108 acre piece of property in New Jersey.  Yes there were big farms and not all city.  When Dean was about 8 years old he worked on a very large vegetable farm making $1.00/hr. and .50 cents for a bushel basket of tomatoes.  Little did Dean know that when he was working for Mr. Toth who was from Romania he thinks it would be the beginning of what the future was to hold for him.

He moved to Raleigh, N.C. in 1983 and met me, Tamera in 1984 and then we married in Feb. 1985.  Dean continued to have small gardens for us at that time.  Dean was a builder by trade and now considers himself retired although he is still a young man of 47 yrs.

A little about Tamera.  That's me!  I must confess I don't do the hard labor that Dean does.  I do try and start off seeds and transplant from pot to pot until ready for the warm ground.  I work a full time job as a RN in ICU.

I am originally from Raleigh, NC. I actually was born here.  My father was military and we traveled until I was 16 yrs. old.  I guess that's why I still like to travel.  I have lived in some of the most beautiful places in the world while he was still in the Army.  We lived in Hawaii, Alaska, Indiana, South Carolina, Germany and California.

The only farm experience I had was when we would come home for a visit with my grand parents who had farms.  I never really did see myself working a farm though.  I love it now!
